Anticipating Full Lodging During The Mandalika MotoGP In NTB, The Government Prepares Cruise Ships
LOMBOK - The Regent of Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Lalu Pathul Bahri stated, to anticipate the shortage of lodging accommodation at the MotoGP at the Mandalika Circuit, the central government will prepare a cruise ship as a lodging place for tourists.
"The cruise ship is later planned to dock at Awang Harbor," said H Lalu Pathul in Praya, Antara, Tuesday, December 21.
The cruise ship that will be imported has a capacity of 2000 people to answer the lack of lodging accommodations in Lombok. In addition, the central government will prepare a fast boat for the Bali-Lombok crossing, making it easier to access for spectators staying outside Lombok.
"Fast boats will also be prepared to support the MotoGP," he said.
He said, in addition to that, the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment in his directive requested that homestays around the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) and tourist villages be upgraded to two-star hotel standards.
"Many things must be prepared to support the MotoGP, such as the existence of homestays in the five supporting villages around the Mandalika Circuit," he said.
To note, the Mandalika Circuit will host the MotoGP racing event in March 2022 with the predicted number of spectators coming to reach 150 thousand tourists. Meanwhile, the number of lodging accommodations in NTB reaches only 16 thousand rooms, so the tourists who come are predicted to stay outside Lombok.
