GrabCar Driver Beaten By Two Drunk Passengers, Bruised Face, Car Vandalized
JAKARTA - A GrabCar driver with the initials AP admitted to being the victim of a beating by two unidentified people. This was known through a video circulating on instant messaging applications and confirmed by the police.
In the video, the victim's face, especially the bruises on his right eye, is thought to be the result of the beating.
The victim said he was beaten by two unidentified people. They were none other than the passengers he transported from the Blok M area, South Jakarta to Rawamangun, East Jakarta.
The victim also said that the two men were drunk. They also damaged his car and abused him.
"The passenger was drunk, now I am heading to the Pulogadung Police. My car was damaged, I was beaten by two people," said AP in the video.
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Pulogadung Police, AKP Heru Sugiarto, confirmed the incident.
Currently, his party has checked the crime scene (TKP) and asked for further information from the victim.
"Yes (true), we have checked the crime scene and are still asking for testimony from victim witnesses," said Heru to reporters on Tuesday, December 21.
