Until November 2021, 1,346 Judges Reported Violations Of The Code Of Ethics To The Judicial Commission
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Judicial Commission, Sukma Violetta, revealed that his party had received 1,346 public reports regarding alleged violations of the code of ethics and the judge's code of conduct from January 2 to November 30, 2021.
"The Judicial Commission also received 783 copies, because usually people submit reports, complaints, or complaints to various institutions at once," said Sukma, Jakarta, Tuesday, December 21.
He made this statement when delivering his presentation at a press conference on the Performance Achievement in the Field of Judicial Supervision and Investigation of the Judicial Commission in 2021 which was broadcast on the Judicial Commission's YouTube channel, monitored from Jakarta, reported by Antara.
Thus, the Judicial Commission obtained 2,129 reports, consisting of direct reports from the public and reports from copies. When compared to 2020, Sukma said there was an increase of 6.4 percent in the public report section, from 1,265 reports to 1,346 reports.
He revealed, from the data, the number of public reports to the Judicial Commission tends to increase from year to year. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic hit Indonesia in the last two years, the number of reports has tended to be less than normal conditions.
"But, when compared to last year, the year the first COVID-19 pandemic, this year the number of reports submitted to the Judicial Commission has increased," he said.
On the same occasion, he also explained that not all reports can go through a process or examination at the panel or plenary sessions of the Judicial Commission because reports must go through a verification process.
"Of the 1,321 that have been verified, there are not many that meet the requirements for registration, namely 200 reports," said Sukma. As for several things that the Judicial Commission pays attention to in conducting verification, namely ensuring that the report is under the authority of the Judicial Commission, ensuring the completeness of the administrative requirements, and there are several reports that are forwarded to other agencies.
"The Judicial Commission really appreciates community participation," said Sukma.
