Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office Detains Former Head Of Education Office As Long As BOS Fund Corruption Suspect
BENGKULU - The Bengkulu High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) investigative team detained the former Head of the Seluma Regency Education Office, Emzaili Hambali and Filya Yudiati Asmara over the alleged corruption case of misuse of non-physical affirmation school operational assistance (BOS) funds in 2020 in Seluma Regency.
The head of the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office, Agnes Triani, said that the suspect Emzaili was being held at the Malabero detention center and the female suspect was being held at the Kandang Limun Women's Prison.
"We are still developing and looking at the facts of the trial later," said Agnes Triani in Bengkulu, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 20.
In this case, the state suffered a state loss of Rp. 582 million and the suspect had entrusted the investigators with Rp. 300 million of money.
Previously, during a search, the investigative team confiscated an account book in the office of the Head of the Education Office which contained Rp300 million in cash.
Agnes said there were 29 Junior High Schools (SMP) and 73 Elementary Schools (SD) in Seluma Regency that received the Affirmation DAK budget.
All of these schools were chosen by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) in 2020 and each school received Rp. 60 million for a total of Rp. 6.1 billion.
For information, the former Head of the Seluma Education Office, Emzaili Hambali, was examined for 9 hours by investigators and then left the Bengkulu Special Prosecutor's Office wearing orange prison clothes.
