South Sumatra Police Arrest Suspect Of Certificate Counterfeiting, Residents Had To Face Police With Sharp Weapons
PALEMBANG - The South Sumatran Police arrested eight suspects at the location of the conflict over land ownership claims between the community and PT Treekreasi Margamulia (TMM) in Suka Mukti Village, Mesuji District, Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI).
The eight people had the initials AS, S, AJ, A, MJ, MK, P, and PP. They were arrested at once by the Joint Crime and Violence Team of the General Crime Investigation Directorate of the South Sumatra Police, on Jalan Raya Suka Mukti Village, Mesuji District, OKI, on the evening of Thursday, December 16.
Director of the Ditreskrimum Polda Sumsel Kombes Hisar Siallagan said suspects AS and S were arrested in connection with the alleged forgery of 36 land certificates in Suka Mukti Village.
"Then the suspects AJ, A, MJ, MK, P, and PP related to the possession of homemade firearms and sharp weapons," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 20.
According to him, the arrests of the suspects began with the reporting of former Suka Village Head Mukti Sutamar (42) who admitted that his signature for the creation of a landmark was allegedly forged by suspects AS and S along with two others, namely B and Y.
Then some time later the police found information on the whereabouts of the four people in Suka Mukti Village and the police immediately carried out an ambush.
"US and S were arrested without a fight, while B and Y are currently designated as DPOs because they are not at the location," he said.
When the officers were about to leave the location with the suspects AS and S, he continued, suddenly from the opposite direction a group of residents appeared, all of whom were using sharp weapons, blocking the officer's car.
Not long ago, he continued, a Toyota Fortuner car carried six suspects, namely AJ, A, MJ, MK, P, and PP. They fired five shots into the air with the intention of threatening officers.
Until finally the police managed to stop the car after opening fire on the tires and six suspects were arrested.
The suspects were arrested along with evidence of 36 land certificates, two pistol-type firearms along with four suspected active 556 caliber ammunition, two machetes, machetes, and two four-wheeled vehicles.
As a result of their actions, suspects AS and S are suspected of violating Article 263 of the Criminal Code on Counterfeiting Letters in conjunction with Article 55 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of seven years in prison.
Then six other suspects, namely AJ, A, MJ, MK, P, and PP were suspected of violating Article 212 of the Criminal Code and Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951 with a threat of 12 years in prison.
