Anies Called Indonesia's Future Leader, PWNU DKI: Worthy And Suitable
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Nadhlatul Ulama Regional Management (PWNU) Samsul Ma'arif made a statement calling DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan the future leader of Indonesia.
He conveyed this after visiting the DKI City Hall with PWNU DKI officials who said goodbye to Anies to attend the NU Congress in the next few days.
"I thank the Governor of DKI Jakarta, the future leader of Indonesia," said Samsul Ma'arif at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Monday, December 20.
Samsul's remarks raises the assumption that he thinks Anies will run for the presidential election in the future.
However, when asked to clarify the meaning of the words "future Indonesian leader" was the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Samsul argued that he was not in that direction.
"We don't mention it (the president), but we hope that Pak Anies is suitable and can cooperate well with PWNU DKI Jakarta. So far, he has often made the best contribution to the NU regional management," said Samsul.
At that time, Anies stood right beside Samsul and heard the statement clearly. However, Anies did not give any comments.
Anies only explained that he had officially released their departure to Lampung, where the congress was being held.
"We welcome the chairman of PWNU, Kiai Samsul Maarif and all PWNU ranks who are preparing to leave for the NU Congress which will take place on 22 and 23. We officially release the departure of the delegation from Jakarta, which tomorrow morning they will immediately leave for Lampung," said Anies.
Anies hopes that the departing PWNU DKI delegation can carry out the activities of the congress which will be held the day after tomorrow smoothly and return to Jakarta in good health.
"We hope that everyone is healthy on the trip and can participate in the congress and the congress will also run smoothly and successfully and later everything will benefit NU, for the people and for the Indonesian nation. We believe tomorrow's congress will be an example for all of us," explained Anies.
