Secure Christmas 2021, Pontianak Police Established Nine Posts
PONTIANAK - The Pontianak City Police, West Kalimantan, will establish as many as nine security posts and services for the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year celebrations in this area.
"Nine security posts are spread over several points, such as churches, terminals, and places that usually become crowded to prevent crowds," said Pontianak City Police Chief Kombes Andi Herindra after chairing the 2022 Christmas and New Year Security Coordination Meeting in Pontianak, Monday, December 20.
In addition to establishing nine security posts, he said, his party will focus on security at 75 church points in Pontianak City.
"In securing the Christmas and New Year 2022 the Pontianak Police will involve as many as 3/4 personnel assisted by the TNI, Satpol PP, and the Pontianak City Health Office, bringing the total to 1,500 personnel," he said.
He added that in the coordination meeting it was mutually agreed that his party would conduct socialization and create a joint patrol team to convey an appeal to the community so that the implementation of Christmas and New Year's 2022 runs safely and healthily.
"Residents are asked to continue to obey and apply health protocols, such as continuing to use masks, diligently washing hands with soap with running water and not crowding," he said. However, he said, to anticipate community mobility, his party will carry out traffic engineering. That is if there is an increase in the volume of vehicles. "For this reason, we hold meetings to find out the latest conditions in each region," he said.
Meanwhile, the Mayor of Pontianak Edi Rusdi Kamtono supports the steps of the Pontianak Police to make the Christmas and New Year 2022 celebrations in Pontianak City safe and healthy.
"I urge the public to continue to obey and implement the prokes according to the government's advice," he said. This was reported by Antara.
