One Casualty Due To A Fallen Tree In Pondok Indah, Parks Sub-dept.: We Are Already Working But There Are Still Fallen Trees
JAKARTA - The South Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-department is improving itself after the death of a motorcyclist due to a fallen tree on Jalan Metro Pondok Indah, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Saturday, December 18.
Now, his party is again cutting trees in a number of areas that are prone to falling to prevent the incident from happening again.
"Currently, the rainy season is in progress. Therefore, the support is further enhanced, in all areas of the administrative city of DKI Jakarta, not only in South Jakarta," said Head of the South Jakarta City Parks and Forests Sub-dept. Winarto when confirmed by reporters, Monday, December 20.
Winarto said the pruning was done to anticipate fallen trees.
"Until December, we have cut down about 26,500 trees," he said.
Winarto explained that tree pruning would be intensified considering that the rainy season has now entered.
Every day, the South Jakarta City Forest and Parks Sub-Department targets the pruning of 10 trees at 11 points prone to falling trees.
Of the 11 points, namely Jalan Ampera Raya, Bangka Raya, Wijaya II, Jalan Baru, Bintaro Permai, Cikoko Timur 2, Jalan Raya Lentang Agung, South Setiabudi, Adiyaksa, and Tebet Timur Raya, and Jalan Casablanca.
"We have been working massively and routinely, but it turns out that recently, with heavy rain and wind, there are still locations where trees have fallen," he said.
Previously, a motorcyclist died as a result of a falling tree falling on Jalan Metro Pondok Indah, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, Saturday, December 18, afternoon.
Based on the data collected, in addition to causing the death of a motorcyclist, the tree also hit a white Honda HRV and was badly damaged.
