Sri Mulyani Amazed, MSMEs Created By David Ex Naif Enter The United States Market

JAKARTA - The government continues to encourage micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to rise up during the COVID-19 pandemic. Government support for MSME actors can be seen from the use of state assets as a vehicle for driving the creative economy.

One of them is the state asset Dhanadyaksa Dipati Ukur, Bandung, West Java. The former Wisma Pertamina building which was handed over to LMAN (State Asset Management Agency) is now a Co-Working Space and Creative Hub.

Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said the assets that had been neglected for a dozen years had now become productive places for the sons and daughters of Mother Earth. How not, these assets are now claimed to contribute to state revenues and move the socio-economics in the Flower City.

During her visit there, Sri Mulyani met with young creative industry players. One of them is the former vocalist of the Naif Band, David Bayu Aji who owns the Unionwell clothing brand.

Sri Mulyani said she was proud to see David and other young people there. He also had time to talk with David. He did not expect that David's product which combines elements of Indonesian art could be packaged in such a modern way. One of them is a picture of petruk in a bag produced by Unionwell.

"Union Well, which was initiated by Naif vocalists David Bayu and Yudi, its very creative apperal design with classic and vintage nuances has penetrated the United States market," Sri Mulyani said, quoted on her official Instagram @smindrawati, Sunday, December 19.

Not only David, Sri Mulyani also visited @deckysastra's booth with the brand @rawtype_riot. Faith Industries produces t-shirts, jackets, and others using the Japanese Anime theme or @playmesomething which produces women's fashion and accessories. Then, also Anna @an.ainianne, owner of Nian Beria's clothing business @nianberia, not only doing business, but also very concerned about social and environmental issues. Anna set aside the proceeds of her sales for the tree planting movement, etc. and this is great.

"They are great people who actually gave birth to ideas and grew in the midst of a pandemic," said Sri.

Sri Mulyani said, on Jalan Dipati Ukur 33, there are still many talented young entrepreneurs from Bandung who gather, create and do business at the same time. He also invites young people to use products made by the nation's children.

"Anyone who likes fashion products and creative accessories with unique designs like the ones I wear? Whatever your choice of appearance, let's prioritize using products made by the nation's children!," he wrote.
