East Jakarta Police To Criminalize Cafe Managers Who Often Violate Operational Hours And Health Procedures

JAKARTA - East Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Erwin Kurniawan will give strict sanctions in the form of criminal threats for owners and managers of cafes and discotheque nightclubs who often violate the rules.

This was conveyed by the Chief of Police when he still found that there were repeated violations at the Hunter cafe on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Cipinang Melayu Village, Makasar District and Sirma cafe on Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, Cawang.

"If they don't want to be advised once, twice, three times, we will enforce the law," said the Police Chief to VOI, Sunday, December 19.

Based on the results of the operation of the two cafes, officers still found violations exceeding operating hours and the manager was still trying to reopen the place of business when the officers were negligent.

"This is not exemplary, for personal gain whereas there is danger from the crowds they create," he said.

As is known, the existence of the Hunter cafe on Jalan DI Panjaitan, and the Sirma cafe on Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, Cawang has not yet closed its operational activities. This angered the officers.

The officer also gave an ultimatum that it would be permanently closed if it was violated again. The reason is, the place often commits violations and seems to operate in a cat and mouse manner when officers come. As happened in the raid on Sunday, December 19 in the early hours of the morning.

Even though the officers visited the place because it was over operational hours, visitors and workers actually left the place. They swore to trick the officers into leaving, and they returned after the officers left.

"There are rules for sanctions, including law enforcement. Yes (criminal). It means that they are preventing the handling of the epidemic, there is a law," said Kombes Pol Erwin.
