Wedding Reception Holds Roadside, 8 People In Pakistan Killed By Bus Hits, 9 Others Critically

JAKARTA - A bus in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province hit a wedding reception on Friday evening, December 17. Eight people were reported dead, nine injured.

According to Xinhua via Antara, local police revealed that the bus rammed into a crowd of people enjoying a party in front of their roadside house near Tahli Adda in Mandi Bahauddin area, Punjab.

The evacuation team and local residents immediately took the bodies and victims to the nearest hospital. The death toll may rise as most of the injured are in critical condition, hospital officials said.

Initial investigations revealed that the incident took place amid heavy fog when the driver lost control of the bus, local media reported.

Police confiscated the bus and named the bus driver, who fled after the accident, as a suspect.
