Conduct Recruitment At Russian University, ISIS Sympathizer Arrested By Federal Security Service

JAKARTA - An ISIS sympathizer has been arrested and detained in Moscow, Russia, for planning recruitment to lure students from the Russian University of Technology into extremist and terrorist activities.

This was revealed by the press service of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) which handles this issue, last Friday.

"The FSB, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and the National Guard, suppresses the activities of supporters of the international terrorist organization ISIS, which tries to involve students of one of the universities in the capital in religious extremist and terrorist activities," the press service quoted TASS as saying December 18.

As the FSB notes, the detained suspect, is a resident of Central Asia, studied at this university and has repeatedly supported the activities of international terrorist organizations and promoted their ideology on the Internet.

The FSB further noted that he distributed materials aimed at forming negative attitudes towards traditional forms of Islam, as well as towards other religions, and called for an armed struggle to establish a caliphate in Iraq and Syria.

It is important to note that criminal proceedings in this case have already begun. It is said that ISIS supporters were arrested during a special operation within the university.
