KNEKS And Muamalat Establish Synergy To Launch Sharia Securities Crowdfunding Literacy Module

JAKARTA - The National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS) has collaborated with Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI) and the Muamalat Institute (MI) to launch the Sharia Securities Crowdfunding Literacy Module.

KNEKS Executive Director Ventje Rahardjo said this literacy module was a step to accelerate the growth of securities crowdfunding services as an alternative funding for MSMEs while increasing competitiveness, especially in the halal culinary sector.

"Referring to the 2020-2024 KNEKS Work Plan, the development and empowerment of MSMEs is one of the priority programs in supporting sharia business and entrepreneurship," he said in an official statement, Friday, December 17.

According to Ventje, in the midst of the pandemic, the halal industry, especially the MSME business segment, was significantly affected.

"The hotel industry has experienced a 25 to 50 percent decline in turnover, including halal tourism," he said.

On the same occasion, the President Director of Bank Muamalat Achmad Kusna Permana said that his party was proud to be a participant in the launch of the Sharia Securities Crowdfunding Literacy Module.

According to Permana, there has been a change in the consumption of the Muslim community, which tends to shift to meet primary and health-supporting needs.

Meanwhile, one of the main problems for MSMEs in seizing this opportunity is the source of funding for capital strengthening.

"To meet the long-term funding needs of MSMEs, Sharia Securities Crowdfunding has been operating as an alternative," he said.

Similarly, the Executive Director of the Muamalat Institute (MI) Anton Hendrianto said that involvement in the preparation of Sharia Securities Crowdfunding is part of an important journey as an educational institution.

"Right now, we are helping KNEKS to be able to encourage the development of MSMEs in Indonesia. We are helping to make modules that can be understood by all relevant parties, starting from the investors as well as from the MSMEs," he said.

For information, Sharia Securities Crowdfunding is a method of raising funds with a joint venture scheme carried out by business or business owners to start or develop their business.

Investors can purchase and obtain ownership through shares, proof of ownership of debt (bonds), or joint ownership certificates (sukuk). The shares of the business are acquired in accordance with the percentage of the value of the contribution.
