Luggage Seller In Ciracas Arrested After Stealing Laptop At Resident's House
JAKARTA - The Ciracas Police have arrested a woman who was involved in the theft of a laptop at a study house (study tutoring) on Jalan Abdulrahman, Cibubur Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta. The theft was caught on CCTV and has gone viral on social media.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ciracas Police, which received the report, immediately conducted an investigation, and as a result, the perpetrator was arrested.
"He has been arrested and has become a suspect. We are developing this female perpetrator, whether there are other crime scenes committed by the perpetrator, especially the theft of electronic goods," said Ciracas Police Chief Kompol Jupriono to reporters, Friday, December 17.
Jupriono further said that currently there is only one report regarding the theft of the same mode. From the perpetrator's confession, he was forced to steal to make ends meet.
"From the suspect's statement, the economic motive was due to necessity. So he carried out activities that violated the law. This confession is only now," he said.
In addition, the police also confiscated the victim's laptop which was stolen by the perpetrator. The laptop was then returned by the police to the victim.
Julio Satria, a victim of theft, appreciated the quick steps taken by the police when arresting the perpetrators.
"Thank you for arresting the perpetrator and the evidence that the laptop can be returned in intact condition," said the victim, Julio.
According to the victim, during the action, the perpetrator pretended to be a suitcase seller.
"When I was praying, the perpetrator entered. When I entered I thought there were students who wanted to study. But when I heard that something was moving, my friend tried to chase me but the perpetrator had already fled using a red Mio Soul motorbike," explained the victim.
