The Third Indodax Short Film Festival Brings Positive Responses From Senior Filmmakers
JAKARTA - The awarding night for the 2021 Indodax Short Film Festival (ISFF) just took place on Wednesday night, December 15, 2021, via Youtube Indodax, inviting positive responses from filmmakers in Indonesia who are also judges in this event.
The jury who attended this event were renowned director Fajar Nugros, famous actress Ayushita, Andi Bachtiar Yusuf, Anjas Maradita, and Dian Rintari as Indodax representatives.
The five judges who were present assessed 15 selected films from hundreds of films that entered the ISFF 2021 directory by taking into account the Scenario, Character deepening, Cinematography, and Editing. The Indodax Short Film Festival (ISFF) itself is currently the biggest event for short film makers in Indonesia, which this year has taken place for the third time.
Indodax CEO Oscar Darmawan said that public interest in ISFF 2021 continues to increase, the quantity of films reaches hundreds and the quality of films entered into the directory is very good. This year, ISFF 2021 takes the theme "Limitless".
“The theme of Limitless has a meaning where we want every film activist not to limit himself to continue to be creative. Thus, the films that are presented can also inspire young people to break free from the barriers and shackles that hinder them. With the enthusiasm of the community for holding this once-a-year event, it is hoped that it will have a positive impact on the audience and the Indonesian people," he explained.
Meanwhile, one of the judges for ISFF 2021, Fajar Nugros, who has been a judge for this short film show from 2019, is very happy that Indodax consistently holds short film competitions from year to year and feels that the Limitless theme is a very appropriate theme for this year.
“For me, who started from short films, this is an opportunity for short film makers out there to show their work. The Limitless theme is appropriate because Indodax improvises in a limited situation due to this pandemic and continues to hold this event. It lives up to the spirit of the short film. So they always move from what they have and I think that's the right theme for this year," said Fajar Nugros.
In the series of organizing the Indodax Short Film Festival (ISFF) 2021, Indodax not only held a short film competition, but also held two workshops related to short films, namely "The Secret Formula to A Great Short Movie" which was held on July 2, 2021 by presenting speakers namely Ario Rubbik, a film director and the workshop “Filmmaking 101: Plotting A Winning Storyline” which was held on September 29, 2021 by presenting a resource person, namely Rahabi Mandra, a screenwriter who received an award as Best Adapted Screenwriter through the film Night Bus.
These two workshops were carried out live via Zoom and broadcast via YouTube Indodax.
