6 Clubs Are Competing To Host League 2, If Chosen, Receive Funds From PT LIB

JAKARTA - The League 2 competition will roll out on October 17, 2020. The competition will use the home tournament format with a single round robin.

There are six teams that volunteered to host the Liga 2 group. The six clubs are PSMS Medan, PSPS Riau, Badak Lampung FC, PSCS Cilacap, North Sulawesi and Persis Solo. The last name is an addition before the draw.

"We plan to draw tomorrow," said President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Akhmad Hadian Lukita, to VOI, Tuesday, August 18.

The determination of the host will be done by drawing or drawing system. The process will be practiced virtually on Wednesday afternoon. There are two clubs that will later be eliminated from the competition.

Apart from determining the host, the drawing will also select group participants. In one group, there will be six participating clubs including the host. Later, the top two teams will qualify for the next round.

Akhmad Hadian said that the club will receive funding from PT LIB. However, he was not sure how much the funds would be received.

"The number is still being calculated. Each club will also receive swab test assistance," he said.

The Managing Director of PT LIB also revealed that currently his party is still working on licensing for the League 2 competition. He hopes that everything can go well and permission will be obtained soon.

"We try to finish all the licensing elements well and smoothly," he said.
