Madiun Regency Government Discourses On Voting For Village Heads As A Regional Holiday
MADIUN - The district government (Pemkab) of Madiun, East Java is planning to set a simultaneous village election day (pilkades) on December 20, 2021, as a regional holiday.
"The regent has instructed that the D day of the village head election should be made a regional holiday. The decree or decree regarding it is currently in process," said Head of the Madiun Regency Community and Village Empowerment Service (PMD), Joko Lelono, quoted by Antara, Thursday, December 16.
According to him, the implementation of the regional holiday is aimed at increasing the level of community participation. Workers who are villagers who organize pilkades can come to the polling station (TPS) to exercise their right to vote.
"After completion, the regional holiday decree will be sent directly to various related parties, including companies in the Madiun Regency area," he said.
Head of the Manpower Office (Disnaker) of Madiun Regency, Heru Kuncoro, said that the certainty of regional holidays during the simultaneous Pilkades was important. Because, it is closely related to the productivity of companies in the region.
According to the data, there are 10,793 workers in 18 large companies and 2,663 workers in 62 medium-sized companies in Madiun Regency. This number does not include state civil servants (ASN) and contract workers in the local district government.
"The companies want to determine a scheme so that the production process can continue. For example, a total holiday or a shift model," said Heru.
His party continues to coordinate with the related OPD, namely the PMD Office to get certainty about the regional holidays as soon as possible.
There are a total of 143 villages in Madiun Regency which will hold the simultaneous Pilkades in 2021. As many as 410 village head candidates (cakades) will compete in the village-level democracy party scheduled for December 20.
