How Kemenparekraf Generate Tourism: Promotion Through Video
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), during this period of adapting to new habits, is actively promoting to revive the world of tourism in Indonesia, which had collapsed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Not only limited to providing assistance and empowering residents around tourist objects, but with the reopening of most tourist objects such as rafting, of course we immediately carry out promotions to bring in tourists," said Director of Tourism Promotion for Special Interest of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Adella Raung, quoted from Antara, Tuesday 18 August.
According to Adella, one of the promotions carried out is making videos about standard operating procedures (SOPs) for activities in tourist destinations such as rafting according to health protocols in preventing the spread of COVID-19.
He continued, the promotion as well as the socialization was to increase the trust of both domestic and foreign tourists so that they could come to various tourist objects in Indonesia to ensure that these tourist attractions were safe from COVID-19 transmission.
As a result of the pandemic, currently tourists are very careful in choosing safe tourist attractions. By making videos of tourist activities that will be displayed in promotional events, tourists will know that the destinations they are visiting have implemented strict health protocols.
"The promotion we are doing, of course, must be supported by business actors in the tourism sector by adapting new habits in the place, implementing health protocols, to ensure that tourists who come are safe from COVID-19 transmission," he added.
On the other hand, Adella said during a working visit to several rafting operators in Sukabumi Regency, West Java, his party found that in one rubber boat was used by six people. In this new normal period, the number of people should be reduced so that they do not sit together or keep their distance.
This protocol should be a concern for every rafting tour operator when rafting activities reopen in the area. Despite trying to attract tourists to visit, don't let the tourist attraction become a new cluster of COVID-19.
