Next Week Nia Ramadhani Is Sued, Lawyer Asks His Client To Be Rehabilitated: He Is A User
JAKARTA - Nia Ramadhani, Ardi Bakrie and their driver Zen Vivanto will undergo a trial for charges of alleged drug abuse from the Public Prosecutor on Thursday, December 23.
"On Thursday, December 23, 2021, at 10:00 with a criminal prosecution agenda," said Chief Justice Muhammad Damis closing the trial at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, December 16.
The attorney for the three defendants, Wa Ode Nur Zainab, said that this trial had shown that his client was a user and had to be rehabilitated.
"All that's left is the demand from the Public Prosecutor next week. So as long as my friends have seen it firsthand, the three of them are users," said Wa Ode.
Wa Ode said the law regulates that drug users are victims of trafficking so they need to get rehabilitation.
Nia Ramadhani and Ardi Bakrie, as well as personal driver Zen Vivanto were charged with drug abuse for consuming narcotics class I.
For their actions, the defendants were charged with violating Article 127 paragraph 1 letter a of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Juncto Narcotics Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code with a penalty of four years in prison.
This case began when Nia was arrested by the Drug Investigation Unit (Satres) of the Central Jakarta Metro Police at her residence in the Pondok Indah area, South Jakarta on July 7, 2021 at 15.00 WIB.
In its development, the Central Jakarta Metro Police named three suspects in a drug abuse case involving husband and wife Nia and Ardi Bakrie. Apart from the two, the police also named the driver with the initials ZN as a suspect.
The police have arrested the three suspects since July 7, 2021 with evidence of one clip of crystal methamphetamine weighing 0.78 grams and one bong (shabu smoking device).
