3 Meter Long Python Nesting In The Ceiling Of A Resident's House, Officers Suspect That It Came From The River Behind The House

JAKARTA - Residents around Jalan Mayjen Sutoyo, RT 10/06, Cawang Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta were shocked by the discovery of a python hiding in the ceiling of their house. Because they were afraid that something bad would happen, the residents contacted the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Sudin Gulkarmat).

After receiving the report, the officers deployed three rescue team personnel to evacuate the snake.

"We from the fire department caught a snake 3 meters long. Reports from residents," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Ops Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed, Thursday, December 16.

Allegedly, the snake came from the river flow behind the residents' houses. Then the snake entered the ceiling of the resident's house.

"He (the owner of the house) often sees the snake on the ceiling but sometimes the snake disappears. Behind the house is a river. It is estimated that the snake came from the river and then climbed to the ceiling," he said.

After conducting a search, officers finally found the snake that was currently nesting in the ceiling.

"We went to the location and searched for 30 minutes, we found and we pulled the tail until it fell. The ceiling is also fragile. The snake fell into the living room," he said.

Because access to evacuation was difficult, officers were forced to break through the ceiling to facilitate the evacuation process.

"The snake was caught by pulling the tail. Within 15 minutes, the snake was successfully evacuated and taken to the Jatinegara Fire Station," he said.

Gatot said that although they had been successfully evacuated, the snake was about to leave under the cupboard.

"The snake was about to leave. Thank God we were able to pull it out of the residents' houses. After being evacuated, the snake was handed over to reptile lovers," he said.
