Marc-Andre Ter Stegen Enters The Treatment Table, Who Is The Barca Goalkeeper Next Season?

JAKARTA - Marc-Andre ter Stegen entered the treatment table because he had problems with the patellar tendon this season. However, Barcelona did not reveal how long the 28-year-old goalkeeper would be out.

The German national team goalkeeper played 46 times for Barcelona in one season. He became both a witness and a victim when his club was destroyed by Bayern Munich with a score of 8-2 last week in the Champions League quarter-finals.

However, Ter Stagen was still one of the players who performed brilliantly for Barcelona last season even though for the first time in 12 years the Catalunya club did not win a trophy in one season.

Ter Stegen was able to keep 14 clean sheets in La Liga as Barcelona finished as runners-up.

"Based on information from the medical team, first team player Marc ter Stegen will perform voluntary medical intervention tomorrow on his right patellar tendon," the club said in a statement released by Antara, Tuesday, August 18.

"It is proactive action that is now being taken to prevent and prepare for the future, as the player experienced some tendon problems at the start of the season," read the same statement.

Los Blaugrana did not say the duration of their main goalkeeper's absence. Meanwhile, the new La Liga season kicks off in less than four weeks on 12 September.

The current reserve goalkeeper for Barcelona is Neto, who has played four times this season and has recorded one net.
