Rumored To Lazio, David Silva Anchored At Real Sociedad
JAKARTA - Spanish creative midfielder David Silva has officially joined Real Sociedad. Whereas previously, the former Valencia player was reportedly close to the Italian League.
"Real Sociedad have reached an agreement with David Silva so he will be a member of the team for the next two seasons until 30 June 2022. The player, who was brought in free from Manchester City, will be joining the team's pre-season preparations soon," said a statement. Sociedad via its official page quoted from Antara, Tuesday.
Joining Silva to Sociedad surprised a number of parties. Not long after the news was tweeted by the official Sociedad account, the club's official website experienced a slight disturbance making it difficult to open.
Before finally joining Sociedad, Italian League club Lazio were widely touted as a strong candidate for the new club for Silva.
Silva is back in the Spanish league again after a decade in the uniform of Manchester City, who signed him from Valencia in 2010.
He will wear the jersey number 21 at the Anoeta Stadium, which was worn by Real Madrid loan player Martin Odegaard last season.
