Prabowo Determines Dahnil To Advance Pilkada In Medan City

JAKARTA - There is news that the spokesman for Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak will advance in the contest for the Medan mayor election in the 2020 simultaneous regional elections.

Dahnil also admitted that his supporters had mobilized so that he could fight in this city contestation in North Sumatra.

However, Dahnil does not yet have the determination to advance in the Medan City Pilkada. He left all decisions to Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto.

"I will only go forward on the orders of the Chairman of the Gerindra Party Board of Trustees, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, considering that I am his spokesman. After the presidential election, I was (indeed) assigned to socialize in Medan," Dahnil told reporters, Thursday, December 26. .

Dahnil acknowledged that there were parties other than Gerindra that proposed to him to advance in the Medan City Pilkada. However, Dahnil emphasized that if he enlivened the Medan contest, then only through the Gerindra Party.

"For me, my current political fatsun follows the decision line of the Gerindra Party and the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party Advisory Council," he said.

Currently Dahnil holds the position of Special Staff to the Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto. This position was assumed after Gerindra made a political decision to join the government of President Joko Widodo.

Dahnil explained that his duties at the Ministry of Defense require high concentration. Moreover, he said, Prabowo was ensuring that his responsibilities as Minister of Defense could be fulfilled properly.

"And until now, he (Prabowo) has not given instructions whether to continue as regional head in Medan City or continue to accompany him as the Special Staff of the Indonesian Minister of Defense," he added.
