BRIN To Build Research Facilities In Cibinong, Biak And Lampung
JAKARTA - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) will build a number of research facilities in 2022 to complement various research infrastructures in order to accelerate research development and the downstream process of research and innovation results to the public.
"We are still focused on completing the national strategic research infrastructure next year," said Head of BRIN, Laksana Tri Handoko, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 15.
In 2022, BRIN will build a number of research facilities located in Cibinong, West Java, including a level-3 animal biosafety laboratory facility and a laboratory with the standard of Good Manufacturing Practices for producing vaccines.
In Lampung, BRIN will build a Strategic Local Mineral Processing Laboratory Facility Based on Low-Cost and Zero Waste Technology and an Incubation Building and Integration Laboratory for Remote Sensing Data and Information Services.
Meanwhile, in Biak in Papua, BRIN will build an Earth Station Facility for Controlling and Receiving Satellite Data.
In addition, BRIN focuses on building research vessels to complement the needs of a research vessel fleet in the country.
BRIN also continues to increase the use of research and innovation in the community by strengthening cooperation in the use of research and innovation with industry.
This is done to increase collaboration between research and innovation producers and users.
Handoko said that as an integrated research institution, BRIN has various schemes for improving human resource competence and utilizing existing infrastructure.
BRIN continues to improve its human resources (HR) for postgraduate and doctoral education qualifications, development of research and innovation HR competencies, and functional and professional development of research and innovation human resources.
