Residents Complain About Infiltration Wells In Bidara Cina Flats Mangkrak, Deputy Governor Of DKI: We Will Follow Up, Don't Worry

JAKARTA - Residents of the Chinese Bidara Flats reported that the construction of infiltration wells has not been completed so far. Even though the construction project has been going on for more than a month.

Based on residents' complaints to the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, residents complained about the infiltration wells being built but not equipped with covers.

The problem is, the construction of infiltration wells is located in a residential area, where children often play in that area. It is feared that the children could fall into the infiltration well which is still standing.

Responding to this, Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria said his party would follow up on the findings. The DKI Water Resources Service (SDA), said Riza, will coordinate with the infiltration well construction contractor to repair it.

"The Water Resources Service will later forward it to the contractors who carry out infiltration wells. In places where there are still things that are seen to be unfinished or not good, let alone some that are not yet perfect, please submit them. We will follow up later," said Riza to reporters, Wednesday, December 15.

In principle, he continued, contractors who have been appointed as partners of the DKI Provincial Government must be responsible for ensuring that all infiltration well work is carried out according to its function.

Therefore, Riza asked the public not to worry if there were problems with infiltration wells in the capital.

"So, you don't have to worry. We are grateful for the participation of the assistance and information provided by the community," said Riza.

"Moreover, we know that there are a lot of infiltration wells that we built this year. The goal is to ensure that these infiltration wells can accommodate water, so that they can reduce, eliminate puddles and potential flooding," he added.
