Cak Imin: We Propose That Everyone Can Self-quarantine, The Control Is Through Visiting Inspections Like In The UK
JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar suggested that everyone without exception be able to self-quarantine.
This proposal came after there was a lot of attention on Mulan Jameela, a member of the DPR who was self-quarantining after returning from abroad.
"Everyone (people, ed). So not only the DPR, we propose to the government that quarantine is self-quarantine. Cheap but tight control," said Muhaimin Iskandar at the DPR building, Wednesday, December 15.
Cak Imin, as he is called, assesses that the self-quarantine requirements that have been carried out at hotels have cost quite a lot. Therefore, self-quarantine can be one solution.
"If quarantine through hotels is too expensive. In order not to be too expensive, well, self-quarantine with high awareness to carry out discipline and control," he said.
According to the head of the PKB, the form of self-quarantine supervision can be carried out by the government such as inspection visits and monitoring of locations through GPS technology, following the example of other countries.
"You can use visiting inspections, GPS technology, all kinds of things. This is the era of technology, yes. Because I have many complaints as deputy chairman of the DPR, the high cost of quarantine," explained Cak Imin.
What is clear is that Cak Imin emphasized that everyone should be able to undergo self-quarantine regardless of their background.
"You don't have to be equal. You don't have to be special. Now the important thing (quarantine) is that everyone is independent, not the DPR, just independent. Independent with supervision, can use GPS, can use sudden visits. Like in England, in America , everywhere (quarantine) is independent with strict control," he explained.
