Two People Died Drowning While Participating In Dragon Boat Rowing Competition In Cilacap, Police Will Call Central Java KONI

JAKARTA – Two people were reported to have died from drowning while participating in the Dragon Boat Rowing competition which was held on the Tipar river, Karangbenda Village, Adipala District, Cilacap, on Sunday 12 December.

Adit Pramono (21) and Leo Verdinan (17), residents of Adipala Subdistrict, became victims because the Sea Dragon boat they were traveling in overturned due to a collision with Dewa Ruci's boat.

The local SAR team managed to find the bodies of Adit and Leo, but both were found dead. Adit Pramono was found Sunday afternoon at 18.55 WIB, while Leo Verdinan was found Tuesday, December 14, at around 03.30 WIB.

The Cilacap Police Chief, AKBP Eko Widiantoro said his party immediately took steps to secure the location and examine witnesses. The police also secured a number of pieces of evidence along with a video of the incident.

"For today (Wednesday 15 December), we will continue to examine witnesses and coordinate with the Puskesmas for the results of the victim's post-mortem. The Cilacap Police also made a call for clarification to the Central Java Provincial KONI," said the Police Chief in a written statement, Wednesday 15 December.
