Losses Due To Fires Near Gaplok Market Reaches IDR 2 Billion
JAKARTA - Plt. Head of the Operational Section of the Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Achmad Syaiful Kahfi, confirmed that there were 276 people living in the 25 tenement houses and kiosks that caught fire on Jalan Kramat Pulo Dalem 2, Pasar Gaplok.
The officer also said that at this time the fire was suspected to have originated from an electrical short circuit in one of the rented houses.
"The area burned is about 1,000 meters with a total loss of 2 billion rupiah," he said, Wednesday, December 15.
Previously, it was reported that a fire had hit dozens of houses and kiosks on Jalan Kramat Pulo Dalem 2, Gaplok Market, Senen, Central Jakarta.
Dewi, one of the traders, said the fire came from one of the rented houses that the owner had left. At that time, from the two-story rented house, it could be seen that the fire had soared high.
"Earlier the fire was seen growing on the second floor of the rented house. The fire was seen at around 08.30 WIB," said Dewi, Wednesday, December 15.
