East Flores BPBD Records Hospital Building Cracks Due To 7.4 . Magnitude Earthquake
JAKARTA - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) reported that the hospital building in Larantuka suffered a crack due to the 7.4 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Flores Sea on Tuesday, December 14 yesterday.
"As of this morning, based on the damage data we received, there were only cracks in the hospital building in Larantuka, no damage to houses or anything else," said Head of BPBD East Flores Alfonsus H Betan from Larantuka, East Florea, Antara, Wednesday, December 15.
BPBD has requested data from all sub-districts in East Flores, especially in Tanjung Bunga District, which is close to the earthquake disaster site.
"But from the data sent, not a single house or infrastructure was damaged by the earthquake," he added.
he said he was grateful that the earthquake with a large magnitude had spread so that there was no damage at all in a number of villages in the district.
Regarding the monitoring of sea level rise after the earthquake, Alfonsus said that there were no reports of rising sea levels after the earthquake.
BPBD has also appealed to people in East Flores not to panic but remain alert to the aftershocks that are still occurring.
"Aftershocks will continue to occur but we hope that people will not panic, but will also remain vigilant about the current situation," he added.
