Anies: COVID-19 Is The Opponent And Medical Personnel Are Heroes

JAKARTA - The Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan stated that currently Indonesia is making history again and is facing an enemy such as in a state of war, namely COVID-19.

Anies said this after becoming the inspector for the commemoration ceremony of the 75th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia at the DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta.

"75 years of Indonesian independence is our chance to make history again. A time when we face an invisible opponent who does not distinguish who he is attacking, who can multiply and spread to every corner of the archipelago," said Anies, Monday, August 17.

Then, at this time Anies considers medical personnel as heroes who are fighting in the last stronghold against the enemy, namely the corona virus.

Some of these "heroes", said Anies, left their families for good because they died while carrying out their duties to treat positive patients with COVID-19.

"I convey my appreciation and respect to today's heroes, those who are our last defense, who maintain safety, our exposed brothers, namely the health workers, medical personnel, some of whom even have to sacrifice their lives in this struggle," he explained. Anies.

If during the pre-independence era, the community fought to expel the invaders by fighting, Anies asked the community to use the same spirit of struggle to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases.

You do this, with 3M's efforts, namely wearing masks, keeping your distance, and washing your hands. Meanwhile, the government implements 3T, namely tracing (contact tracing), testing (inspection), and treatment (treatment).

"This seems simple. However, 3M and 3T are the spearheads of our struggle in 2020," said Anies.

Anies said that now is a crucial time for all parties to overcome the pandemic and put aside things that can interfere with the success of the struggle.

"This is the time for us to prioritize safety and vigilance, take advantage of science instead of believing in hoaxes," he said.

Furthermore, Anies stated that the efforts of all parties to control the COVID-19 case during the pandemic will be a moment that will be remembered as part of those who fought and fought the outbreak. "This is a joint work in 2020 which we will later record in the history of the nation's struggle," he concluded.
