Basarnas Searches For Passengers Of The KM Roy Ship That Sank In The Kukar Waters Of East Kalimantan
KUTAI KARTANEGARA - The East Kalimantan-Kaltara Basarnas is currently searching for two passengers on the KM Roy ship that sank in the waters of Muara Saliki, Muara Badak District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.
Head of the East Kalimantan-Kaltara Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas), Melkianus Kotta in Muara Badak, said the ship sank at around 04.00 WITA, Tuesday, December 14.
Then, the report went to Basarnas at around 10:10 WITA. The information was received from the owner of the ship named Yusuf.
After receiving the report from Yusuf, personnel from the East Kalimantan-Kaltara Basarnas immediately rushed to the scene.
"The location of the incident is about 32 kilometers from the Kansar SAR unit in Samarinda with a distance of about two hours away. Currently, officers are heading to the location," said Melkianus Kotta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, December 14.
Melki revealed that the ship was carrying six people, of which Lukman was the captain. Of the six people on the ship, four people were declared safe, namely Lukman (32), Ari (22), Izal (25) and Samsuding (28).
"There are two victims who have been declared missing and are still being searched, Andi Asrul (27) and Udin (37)," he said.
He explained, based on the report he received, the incident on the KM Roy ship that was loading the goods leaked and climbed into the gusung and then overturned.
"For that incident, four people were declared safe and two people are still being searched by the team," he explained.
