IPR Survey Results: Prabowo Subianto's Electability Is Hard To Catch

JAKARTA - The electability of Gerindra General Chair Prabowo Subianto in the ranks of presidential candidates ranks highest, when compared to other candidates.

This was conveyed by the executive director of the Indonesian Public Review (IPR), Putro Mas Gunawan when presenting the results of his survey.

"In the question of electability, Prabowo still holds the first position with a public electability of 23.6 percent," said Putro in an official statement in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 14.

After Prabowo, he said, there were two names of candidates. Namely Anies Baswedan who is now the Governor of DKI Jakarta, and Ganjar Pranowo who is now the Governor of Central Java.

"Anies is 13.7 percent and Ganjar is 13.4 percent," he said.

In addition, the fourth position was filled by Ridwan Kamil and followed by Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno. "Competition is getting more interesting with the approach of Ridwan Kamil (10.1 percent) and Sandi (9.2 percent)," he explained.

Then, if you look at the trend of the survey results he did, Putro considered that Prabowo Subianto's position was very difficult to catch up with by his competitors.

"If this trend continues, it is not impossible to threaten and shift the position of Ganjar and Anies," he said.

In addition, the position of the electability of the name of the presidential candidate that was netted in the survey was Puan Maharani who got 3.9 percent of the vote. Followed by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati who got 3.4 percent.

Then there are the names of Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir and Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto.

"The next surprise came from Puan (3.9 percent) and Sri Mulyani (3.4 percent) whose electability passed and was above Tri Rismaharini (2.9 percent). Meanwhile, Erick thohir and Airlangga still had 1.0 percent more electability. ," he explained.

This survey was conducted by IPR from November 25 to December 5, 2021 with 1,230 respondents in 34 provinces with a Margin of Error (MoE) ±2.8 percent and a confidence level of 95 percent.

Collecting data through direct interviews with the help of this questionnaire was carried out using a multistage random sampling technique where the respondents were residents who were at least 17 years old and over and or who had been married. Of course, the process in this field is carried out with strict health protocols.
