Marc Klok Injures Hamstring Due To Forced Play, Robert Alberts: This Is A Lesson For Us

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung player Marc Klok suffered an injury after helping his team beat Persik Kediri 1-0 on Sunday. The news was revealed by coach Robert Rene Alberts through the club's official website.

Klok suffered a hamstring injury due to the 28-year-old player making explosive movements. The Dutch coach said that actually the disturbance experienced by Klok was seen in the first half.

Realizing this, Alberts had time to ask the condition of the player at halftime. But Klok insisted on continuing the fight.

"Marc (Klok) seemed to have been disturbed in the first half. At half-time, we asked him about his condition," Alberts was quoted as saying on Tuesday, December 14.

"He said okay, this is normal. He wants to continue playing in the second half. In the second half, he made quite explosive movements so it felt (pain)," the coach continued.

Despite insisting on performing optimally, in the end Klok had to be pulled off the field at 50 minutes and replaced by Abdul Aziz.

Alberts then said, incidents like this should be used as a lesson. The coaching team and the club must be able to anticipate similar incidents so that players can bring out their best abilities to help Persib.

Anticipation also needs to be prepared by the coaching team so that more serious injuries do not occur.

"This is a lesson for us how to anticipate things like this. Players want to bring out their best abilities and achieve what the team wants," he explained.

"They are trying their best. But we also have to learn to anticipate it," explained the coach.
