Santriwati Victim Of Rape Of A Pondok Teacher In Bandung Wants To Go To School, Social Minister Risma Help Prepare Documents
JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini ensured that his party would help arrange documents so that students who were victims of rape by a pesantren teacher in Bandung City could return to formal schooling.
"We caught them still having mental blocks, so we asked what they wanted. They generally want to go to school," Risma said when met at the Ministry of Social Affairs Building in Jakarta, Antara, Tuesday, December 14.
Risma said that while attending a boarding school owned by the rapist, HW, the victims did not have any documents, including report cards and diplomas. In fact, these documents are needed so that the victim can continue his education program.
In order to ensure the survival and rights of victims, Risma admitted that she would intervene in cross-sectoral coordination.
"This assistance is how they get important documents. If he transfers to another school, these documents are definitely needed," he said.
In addition to helping victims, the Ministry of Social Affairs will also provide guarantees for children born from the victim's womb due to HW's unforgivable actions.
Based on a report from the Mother of the Regional Children's Forum (FAD) in West Java, there were 13 victims of HW's rape. Of these, nine babies were born from eight victims, some even have two children.
"How will this child go in the future, both for the mother and for the child so that we can maintain their continuity. So that their growth and development can be normal," he said.
The Ministry of Social Affairs has also dispatched a companion to restore the psychological condition of the victim and their parents. "Because the trauma was so severe, I even asked for hypnotherapy. His parents are also being assisted by us," said Risma.
