JAKARTA - The Transportation Agency (Dishub) of Tidore Islands City (Tikep), North Maluku (Malut) stated that the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has scheduled for 2022 Loleo Airport will be built.
Head of the Tidore City Transportation Service, Daud Muhammad, stated that the Tikep City Government together with the Governor of North Maluku Abdul Gani Kasuba, the North Maluku Provincial Transportation Service were invited by the Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi to discuss the readiness of Loleo Airport infrastructure.
"From the invitation, one of the things discussed is the Loleo Airport infrastructure which is planned to be built by the Ministry of Transportation," said Daud, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, December 14.
According to him, the Minister of Transportation has agreed on the construction of transportation routes in North Maluku, including three ports and one airport and in a meeting witnessed directly by the Governor of North Maluku Province, that Loleo Airport will be built in 2022 by the Ministry of Transportation.
Therefore, in January 2022, the Director General of Civil Aviation will review the construction site for Loleo Sofifi Airport.
In addition, next January, the Director General of Civil Aviation will review the location of the airport, because Loleo is very strategic. Its position in the middle, the direction from the south, namely South Halmahera and Central Halmahera.
While on the north side there are North Halmahera, East Halmahera, West Halmahera and Morotai Island, while for the west there are Tidore and Ternate cities.
In fact, on the sidelines of the meeting, he was also asked about whether the land and the location of the airport are flat or not, while the land and the location of the airport, there is already an access road and access from Sofifi to Loleo is only 30 kilometers away.
"With this explanation, the Minister of Transportation responded and confirmed that Loleo Sofifi Airport would be built in 2022 by the Ministry of Transportation.
When asked about the status of the land, Daud added, the land is ex PNP land that has been certified and the land belongs to the community and will be carried out land acquisition from the Tikep City Government.
