SEMARANG - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo encouraged district and city governments that have met the requirements to immediately disseminate vaccinations for children aged 6-11 years to parents, committees, or schools.
"There are already instructions for the preparation of vaccinations for children aged 6-11, so now we ask the regents/mayors to disseminate information to their guardians. I think through the committee, this school is very good and the time can start tomorrow morning," he said in Semarang, Monday. , December 13th.
However, Ganjar said that until now Central Java had not received a shipment of special vaccines for children from the central government.
"So some of the vaccines that the districts/cities have not taken yesterday, I ask to be taken today, otherwise tomorrow we will inject them into the children as a trial and we will immediately start the socialization after our meeting today," he said.
Ganjar welcomed the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 66 of 2021 regarding the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 at Christmas and New Year.
Regarding the requirements for COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 6-11 years old, it can only be carried out in areas that have already vaccinated 70 percent of the first dose and 60 percent of the elderly vaccination, Ganjar said that almost all areas in Central Java had met the requirements.
"Currently, only three areas are of concern, namely Brebes Regency, Pemalang Regency and Tegal Regency," he said.
