The Chairman Of PSSI Appreciates Kushedya's Professionalism Amid The Grief Of His Father's Passing
JAKARTA - PSSI general chairman (ketum) Mochamad Iriawan appreciated Kushedya Hari Yudo's professionalism, who still chose to defend the Indonesian national team despite his grief.
Kushedya continued to appear for the national team when they beat Laos 5-1 in the 2020 AFF Cup Group B phase match on Sunday, December 12 afternoon. In fact, two days earlier he had just received the sad news.
Kushedya's father died in Indonesia, while Kushedya could not meet for the last time because he was playing for the national team in Singapore. In the midst of that grief, Kushedya still performed optimally.
"On behalf of myself and the PSSI extended family, I feel sorry for the death of Kushedya Hari Yudo's father," said Iriawan, quoted from the official PSSI website.
"Great appreciation and salute for Yudo's sacrifice who is still with the Indonesian national team to fight in the 2020 AFF Cup in Singapore," continued the PSSI chairman.
In Indonesia's match against Laos, Kushedya appeared for 45 minutes or only in the first round. After the break, Kushedya was pulled off the field and replaced by Witan Sulaeman.
Despite playing only one round, the Arema FC striker performed well and was able to trouble the Laos defense line. Seeing how professional the young players are, Iriawan prays that the national team's efforts can bear fruit.
"Hopefully Yudo's sacrifice with the Indonesian national team can be achieved. We can win the 2020 AFF Cup. I also advise all players to continue to fight hard, focus, and be disciplined for the sake of the Indonesian national team," he continued.
After winning over Laos, Indonesia successfully topped the Group B standings. After this, the Garuda squad has also been waiting for an equally tough match against Vietnam on Wednesday the day after tomorrow.
