Resealed Holywings Kemang Opens With New Name Garrison

JAKARTA - The cafe at the location of the former Holywings Kemang, South Jakarta which was sealed due to violating health protocols is now operating again. The cafe is now called Garrison Kemang.

This was confirmed by the Head of Satpol PP Arifin. Arifin said Garrison's management applied for a business permit at the former Holywings Kemang location to the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf).

"They submitted an application. At that time (Holywings Kemang) we sealed it, then they asked for the seal to be opened to switch from Holywings to another company," Arifin said when contacted, Monday, December 13.

Arifin emphasized that the owner of Garrison Kemang is different from the owner of Holywings Kemang. That is why the Garrison Kemang cafe business was allowed to operate and the seal at the former Holywings Kemang location was reopened by the DKI Satpol PP.

However, based on a search on Garrison Kemang's Instagram account, the account is the old Holywings Kemang account which changed its account name. The reservation phone number listed is also similar to Holywings Kemang.

Regarding the issuance of the Garrison Kemang permit, Arifin admitted that the DKI Provincial Government could not prohibit it. This is because they meet the administrative requirements for business licensing up to the company's deed of establishment.

"In the laws and regulations, it is permissible, right, we can't prohibit people from doing business. The permits are already owned. Because this has changed, the ownership of the business has changed, Satpol PP has lifted the seal. The principle is to continue to comply with health protocols," explained Arifin.

As is known, the violation of health protocols at Holywings Kemang occurred on Saturday, September 4th. Initially, the sanction was in the form of temporarily closing the place of business for 3x24 hours since Sunday, September 5.

However, after the DKI Provincial Government evaluated the record of history of violating health protocols. It turned out that Holywings Kemang had committed three violations. Finally, the suspension of business permits during the pandemic was granted and the DKI Provincial Government imposed a fine of Rp. 50 million.

This sanction was applied because Holywings Kemang allowed crowds of customers, violated the maximum capacity of 25 percent, and operated after 21.00 WIB.
