Supervise Year-End Homecoming, Sleman Regent Asks RT/RW COVID-19 Task Force To Reactivate

SLEMAN - The Regent of Sleman, Special Region of Yogyakarta, Kustini Sri Purnomo asked environmental officials to reactivate the COVID-19 Task Force at the RT/RW level ahead of the 2021 Christmas and 2022 New Year celebrations.

"This activation aims to help monitor homecomers who are desperate to return to their respective areas and to help check people who are desperate to return," said Kustini Sri Purnomo in Sleman quoted by Antara, Monday, December 13.

According to him, the COVID-19 Task Force at the RT/RW level must also be able to ensure the health of the travelers who come.

"Don't be fooled and instead bring the virus home," he said.

In addition to activating the COVID-19 Task Force, the Sleman Regency Government will also send personnel to security and service posts established by the police.

Random checks on vaccination documents or care for protection as well as swab results for travelers will be carried out at rest areas, arrival terminals and at tourist objects.

"There will be two main posts in Prambanan and Tempel. If a positive case is found during the examination, the Task Force and the Health Service (Dinkes) will immediately handle it," he said.

Regent Kustini also appealed to residents of Sleman Regency who migrated to postpone their return to Sleman first.

"Delaying going home is also part of our efforts to reduce the risk of the spread of the COVID-19 virus. I hope this is also taken seriously and not to be underestimated," he said.
