Hundreds Of Houses In The Village Of Mundurejo, Jember, Were Submerged By Floods
JEMBER - Hundreds of houses in Mundurejo Village, Umbulsari District, Jember, East Java, were flooded by the overflowing river after heavy rains. In certain locations, the water level reaches 1 meter.
One of the residents, Shodiq said that the flood had submerged the residents' settlements, making daily activities difficult.
"This is the first time this has happened here and it was quite a shock for us because in the Mundu Block Hamlet, the flood has just been severe," said M Shodiq, Monday, December 13.
Meanwhile, the Head of Mundurejo Village, Edi Susanto, said that the flood had not subsided. His party is still evacuating residents and making public kitchens.
"We have data, we go directly to the muspika and carry out assessments for affected residents and evacuate and build public kitchens. Meanwhile there are 500 families affected and the water is also starting to recede, hopefully there won't be any more rain," said the village head.
Meanwhile, the BPDB of Jember Regency and the Muspika of the Umbulsari sub-district and the Jember Police carried out an evacuation and went down to the houses of residents affected by the flood.
