Minister Of Manpower Ida Fauziyah Said, Private Employees May Take Eid And New Year Leave: The Important Thing Is To Keep Implementing The 5M Protocol
JAKARTA - The Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah allows private employees to take time off during the 2021 Christmas and New Year 2022 (Nataru) Holidays.
Until now, the Joint Decree (SKB) of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of PAN-RB Number 712 of 2021, Number 1 of 2021 is only binding on ASN and BUMN employees. Meanwhile, leave for workers/laborers in the private sector is regulated through a Work Agreement (PK), Company Regulation (PP), and Collective Labor Agreement (PKB).
"We invite our fellow workers/laborers in the private sector to take their leave, but remember that we must continue to apply the 5M. Wear masks, wash hands with running water and soap or hand sanitizer, maintain distance, avoid crowds, and reduce mobility," he said. Minister of Manpower in an official statement, quoted from the Ministry of Manpower website, Monday, December 13.
Nevertheless, he appealed to workers/labourers to continue to apply strict health protocols if they did take time off during Christmas and New Year.
Ida also added that workers who will take Nataru's leave should refrain from traveling. This is considering the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia.
On the other hand, workers/laborers who have urgent reasons to travel are required to adhere to health protocols.
