Persib Only Won 1-0 Over Persik, Robert Alberts: The Last Game Is Always Difficult

JAKARTA - Persib Bandung won 1-0 over Persik Kediri in the 17th week of Liga 1 2021. With a narrow win, Robert Rene Alberts said his players were tired.

The coach admitted his team even had to struggle to score a single goal. The reason is, in the final match of the 2021 Liga 1 second series, the players were too tired.

"The last game (in each draw) is always difficult because the players are exhausted in this bubble system," Alberts was quoted as saying on the club's official website, Monday, December 13.

Not only fatigue, the Dutch coach also admitted that the match was difficult for Persib because they also lost many players. There are several Maung Bandung players who are injured and are also absent for the sake of defending the national team.

"Don't forget also we lost a lot of players, there were some players who weren't with us, it was quite difficult," he added.

In the match which took place at the Sultan Agung Stadium, Bantul on Sunday, Persib was only able to break into the opponent's goal with one shot. However, the execution of Frets Butuan in the 18th minute was enough to bring them home with three points.

The victory over the team nicknamed the White Tiger made Persib back up to second position shifting Arema FC. With a score of 34 points, their distance from the leader of the standings, Bhayangkara FC, is getting thinner.

Persib is only three points away from Bhayangkara FC, which has collected 37 points. However, Persib's position could go down again if Arema FC won in the 17th week.
