Unable To Return To Indonesia Despite Grief, Kushedya Remains With The National Team For The 2020 AFF Cup
JAKARTA - Sad news is surrounding one of the Indonesian national team players, Kushedya Hari Yudo ahead of the match against Laos in the 2020 AFF Cup. Saturday, December 11, the striker's father passed away.
The news of the death of Kushedya's father was known from the condolences sent by PSSI via the official Twitter account.
"My deepest condolences for the death of Kushedya Hari Yudo's father. May the deceased be given the best place and the family left behind will be given fortitude," wrote PSSI.
In the midst of this sad news, Kushedya's situation was difficult. The reason is, he is currently in Singapore with the national team, while his family is in Indonesia.
Regarding this situation, Nova Arianto as the assistant coach of the national team gave an explanation. He said that Kushedya did not return to Indonesia even though he was grieving, the striker was still fighting with the national team in Singapore to complete the remaining matches.
"Yes, but Yudo did not return (to Indonesia) and will be with the team until the AFF event is over," Nova Arianto told VOI in a written statement.
Furthermore, Nova Arianto said that previously the coaching team had communicated with Kushedya regarding the current situation. The player also understood and decided to stay because if he returned he could not go straight to the house because he still had to undergo quarantine.
"Yudo understands this situation very well, especially when he comes home he has to be quarantined," concluded Nova Arianto.
Kushedya's presence is needed by the national team because tomorrow the Garuda squad will undergo the second group stage match against Laos at Bishan Stadium, Singapore.
