Get Ready, COVID-19 Vaccination For Children Age 6-11 Years Starts In Java-Bali
CENTRAL JAVA - The Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) held a COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 6-11 years in the Java-Bali region on December 24, 2021.
"It will start in Java-Bali and there may be additional districts outside Java and Bali," said Spokesperson for COVID-19 Vaccination at the Indonesian Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, who was confirmed in Jakarta, Saturday, December 11.
According to the Instruction of the Minister of Home Affairs, said Nadia, vaccination in the age group of 6-11 can be started when the coverage of the first dose of vaccination is above 70 percent and the elderly is 60 percent.
Nadia said that vaccination of children was carried out in a number of facilities in schools, health care facilities, or vaccination centers. "Everything is possible," he said.
The Indonesian Ministry of Health allocated 6.4 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine aged 6-11 years for kick off activities on the first day of implementation.
Previously, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia Dante Saksono Harbuwono during a working visit to Boyolali, Central Java, Friday, December 10, said the government had allocated around 60 million more doses of COVID-19 vaccine to target the child age group.
"Child vaccination will be carried out on December 24, 2021. We will prioritize vaccines for children, we will allocate around 58-60 million doses and we will adjust them to the age of children 6-11 years old," he said.
