Police Beaten Using Baseball Bat While Raiding A Drug Case
JAKARTA - A member of the West Jakarta Metro Police Drug Investigation Unit, Bripka Naldi, was a victim of abuse during a raid on a marijuana case in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.
West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Audie S. Latuheru said, the mistreatment was carried out by the parent of the suspected drug offender with the initials M using a baseball bat. This incident occurred in the Serenia Hills housing complex, Karang Tengah, Lebak Bulus on the night of August 12.
"There were efforts to distract us by trying to block us. The act of encouragement occurred until finally one of our members was beaten with a baseball bat," said Audie in her statement, Friday, August 14.
In fact, said Audie, the investigation process was carried out according to existing regulations involving security officers in the housing complex as witnesses. However, the perpetrators actually called the members who came as fake police.
Despite the obstacles and acts of violence, the target of the drug case, AM (31) was successfully arrested. Meanwhile, the perpetrator's parents who beat the members were also arrested.
"The injured member reported it to Polda Metro Jaya last night. Visum and preliminary examinations have been carried out," said Audie.
Apart from arresting the two people, the police also confiscated several pieces of evidence. One of them the drink bottle contains marijuana.
