Caring For The Victims Of The Mount Semeru Eruption, LPEI Distributes Food Aid To Medicines
JAKARTA - The Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI)/Indonesia Eximbank through the #LPEIPeduli action distributed food, beverages, medicines, adult and baby clothes, and toiletries to victims of the Mount Semeru eruption located in Lumajang Regency, East Java.
In addition, LPEI also provided other assistance in the form of bedding, 200 folding mattresses and 200 blankets, which were handed over directly to the Pronojiwo District Office post, Lumajang Regency on December 7, 2021. This assistance will be distributed directly to communities affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru.
The LPEI Corporate Secretary, Agus Windiarto, revealed that the LPEI Surabaya Regional Office Team through the #LPEIPeduli action was responsive and immediately moved quickly to coordinate with the local government to help the affected victims and distribute the assistance most needed at this time.
"We will continue to monitor the development of the situation and condition of the eruption of Mount Semeru. We provide initial assistance considering the most urgent needs for the victims and will continue to coordinate with the parties regarding the conditions on the ground," said Agus Windiarto in his written statement, Friday, December 10.
As a Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, this institution has #LPEIPeduli actions which are part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities or a form of corporate social responsibility to the community and the surrounding environment.
Natural disaster assistance, vaccine implementation activities, distribution of cloth masks, delivery of basic necessities and portable sinks and thermos guns are some of the actions that have been taken to assist and support the government in minimizing the spread of the COVID-19 virus and supporting the achievement of herd immunity.
"We hope that the humanitarian and social assistance through these #LPEIPeduli actions can provide benefits to the community/victims affected by the eruption and the situation can recover soon. And we will continue to support government programs in national economic recovery," said Agus.
