Isyana Bagoes Oka's Car Sinks Into An Infiltration Well, PSI Collects Anies' Promise To Take Firm Action Against Contractors

JAKARTA - PSI's DPP Chairperson Isyana Bagoes Oka's car fell into a sinking well in the Bona Indah Park area, Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.

In this case, Member of Commission B of the DKI DPRD from the PSI faction, August Hamonangan, demanded the promise of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, to take firm action against the contractors working on the problematic infiltration wells.

“Once again, the quality of the construction of infiltration wells is in the spotlight. Last week, the Governor said that he would take firm action against reckless infiltration well contractors. We collect the promise,” August told reporters, Friday, December 10.

August said the poor quality of infiltration well construction was caused by the DKI Provincial Government's overly ambitious action in pursuing the target of completing thousands of infiltration wells by the end of 2021.

As is known, towards the end of the year, the DKI Provincial Government is speeding up the construction of vertical drainage to reach 26 thousand points until the end of December 2021.

"This is a result of the provincial government's pursuit of the target of building as many infiltration wells as possible so that the orientation is on quantity, not quality. In the end, it is the safety of the people who are sacrificed," said August.

August requested that the construction point of the infiltration well and the contractors who work on it be opened to the public so that the work can be monitored together.

"The budget for the construction of infiltration wells this year is 411 billion and is spread over tens of thousands of points. I ask the provincial government to open the location points to the public so that the community can closely monitor the quality of the construction," he said.

For information, recently, vertical infiltration or drainage wells in the Capital City have been in the spotlight. Anies realized that. He also emphasized that solving this problem is the responsibility of the contractor as the vendor of the infiltration well project.

Anies said the DKI Provincial Government will take strict action in the form of penalties for contractors working on infiltration wells with specifications below the agreed standard.

"Of course we will act decisively if there is a problem through a penalty mechanism against the contractor concerned if there are irregularities," said Anies in his statement, Monday, December 6.
