In The Aftermath Of Alleged Land Certificate Fraud, Village Officials In Banyuwangi Reported To Police

BANYUWANGI - Residents of Semalang Hamlet, Sumbersari Village, Banyuwangi, East Java, reported their village officials to the police. The report follows allegations of fraudulent actions regarding land certification.

One of the residents, Setiyo Purwoaji, said the case occurred in 2016. The village officials came to the residents to inform them about the bleaching of land certificates. Residents who agreed to the offer were then asked for money worth Rp. 1.7 million.

"They said that residents just had to accept it was done. However, to this day the process of whitening the certificate has not been completed. There is no follow-up. Not only me, but many other residents," he said, Friday, December 10.

When asked by residents, continued Setiyo, the village apparatus actually asked residents to transfer an amount of money worth Rp. 4 million to Bank Jatim. The reason for this is tax management.

"Tell me to add. I don't want to. From that Rp. 1.7 million I only got these empty and unclear files," he said.

Feeling cheated, finally he and other residents ventured to report the case to the Banyuwangi Police Headquarters.

"Hopefully it will be taken care of soon so I can get clarity," he hoped.

Meanwhile, another resident representative, Joko Supriyono, said that at first the residents thought that the bleaching was part of the National Agrarian Program (PRONA) or a series of mass land certification activities.

"Because at that time PTSL didn't exist. On average, these victims were parents who didn't know anything about the law. They just believed and agreed," he said.

From his search, he confirmed that almost every hamlet in the village had residents who took part in the program. Unmitigated, there were even residents who handed over Rp. 6 million rupiah.

"But the results have so far been nil. Currently, we have only 20 residents in our inventory. Therefore, we ask the police to thoroughly investigate this case. So that there are no more bad people who have the heart to deceive and take advantage of their positions to oppress residents," he said. .
