Criticized By Fans, Cowboy Bebop Series May Not Continue To Season Two

JAKARTA - The live action series Cowboy Bebop is said to have not continued into the second season even though this series was just released on Netflix on November 19 last.

Cowboy Bebop is an adaptation of Shinichirō Watanabe's 1998 animation starring Spike Spiegel (John Cho). In addition, he is assisted by Mustafa Shakir as Jet Black and Daniella Pineda as Faye Valentine.

The production team faced various challenges, one of which was an injury on the set experienced by John Cho. As a result, production had to be stopped for seven to nine months.

When it was released on November 19, the live action series Cowboy Bebop received criticism from animation fans. It didn't take long for the series to drop from Netflix's Top 10 rankings.

Judging by the criticism site Rotten Tomatoes, 10 episodes of Cowboy Bebop were only rated 46 percent.

A number of the original creators were involved in the production of the series, such as Shinichirō Watanabe as series consultant as well as Yoko Kanno, the animation scoring composer who co-produced the live action version.

According to Deadline, the production of Cowboy Bebop in New Zealand has cost a lot of money, so Netflix expects a large audience to watch.

As for the production house that made Cowboy Bebop, Tomorrow Studios is preparing another live action series, One Piece for Netflix.
