Join The Scouts Planting Thousands Of Trees On Tirang Beach, Ganjar: Planted But Not Protected, Yes Eman

SEMARANG - The beach is one area that needs to be preserved and clean. Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo hopes that all parties will jointly protect the beach at least by not littering.

He conveyed this after carrying out tree planting activities on the lips of Tirang Beach, Tugu District, Semarang City, Friday (10/12). Ganjar while cycling, stopped by and immediately looked at the condition of the beach at the west end of Lumpia City.

"Wow, this is while cleaning up the garbage," said Ganjar greeting a number of volunteers upon arrival at the Tirang Beach area.

Ganjar gave a thumbs up and appreciated the initiative taken. Without lingering, Ganjar went straight to the point where he planted the tree.

"This is the seed, yes, sea pine. I entrusted it to you, it was planted but cared for. If it is planted but not taken care of, yes, eman," said Ganjar when he symbolically handed over the sea spruce seeds to Tirang Beach manager, Dio Hermansyah Bakri.

The event was attended by various levels of society. Starting from Scouts, Perum Perhutani to business actors. While planting, Ganjar reiterated that local residents continue to care for and maintain their beaches.

"Anyway, during this rainy season we continue to plant and today there are many who are involved from Scouts, students and forestry too. Many are involved here and what we are happy about is not only planting but they also clean up trash," said Ganjar after planting.

Ganjar hopes that this tree planting activity on the lips of Tirang Beach will not only add to the lush coastal area but also prevent abrasion. Ganjar emphasized that maintaining the beach is not only about preventing abrasion but also cleaning the beach from garbage.

"If we can maintain this, hopefully the beaches will be good. So those on this beach or those who are on picnics, we hope that all of us will maintain cleanliness, put the garbage in its place. Maybe use a little plastic," he said.

The Head of the LHK Service, Widi Hartanto, added that a total of plant seeds were planted at the event. The types vary from sea pine, ketapang to mangroves. The existence of trees, said Widi, is expected to prevent the beach from abrasion.

"This planting activity is emphasized more on protecting the beach environment, especially educating residents to keep beaches clean from garbage," he said.
